ecoVINO says: We absolutely love this elegant sparkling rosé wine from the Le Tende winery. The winemaker has named this wine Voluttà, which means ‘pleasure’ and ‘delight’ in Italian. This really is a wonderful, lively and delightful sparkling rosé. It’s your perfect summer drink, which is best served at a very chilled temperature. It’s fabulous to drink as an aperitif or alongside a few savoury snacks with your family and friends especially on a gloriously sunny day.
Aroma: Delightful floral aromas – particularly rose petals, blossom, honeysuckle and jasmine - with notes of green apple and pear drops.
Taste: Off-dry (Brut), with a slight hint of sweetness, and medium acidity and low tannins. Light-to-medium bodied with medium alcohol and a lingering finish. This gentle sparkling rosé wine opens with pink lady apple, raspberry and violet flavours. The wine has a lovely elegance and sparkle, with hints of redcurrant and rose petals on the finish. It’s the type of sparkling wine that invites you to pour another glass straight away.
Food pairing: Fantastic as an aperitif alongside a few savoury snacks, or with raw foods and low-fat fresh tasting Mediterranean dishes.
Open: No decanting required.
Service temperature: Very chilled (4 to 6 degrees Celsius).
Winemaking process: The grapes are handpicked at the beginning of September to preserve acidity and then macerated in stainless steel tanks for only 2 hours to create a base rosé wine. The wine is then placed into specially reinforced autoclave tanks with yeast and sugar. The second fermentation takes place in these tanks for 2 months, and then 1 month in the bottle, to naturally create the bubbles. The residual sugar is 10g/litre creating a ‘Brut’ sparkling wine.
Allergens: Minimal naturally-occurring sulphites lower than EU organic wine production requirements.
