ecoVINO says: This is a wonderfully versatile and dynamic Super Tuscan from the highly celebrated Bolgheri DOC winemaking region. This medium-to-full bodied red wine is produced from a blend of Sangiovese (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Syrah (20%) grapes. This is a lovely fresh and fruity red wine with great structure, balance and intensity. Extremely drinkable now (or before 2026).
Aroma: Pronounced aromas of ripe red fruits - particularly redcurrant, cherry, plum and raspberry – with hints of vanilla, cedar, smoke and caramel.
Taste: Dry with medium-to-high acidity, alcohol and tannins. Medium-to-full bodied and medium finish. Opens with flavours of fresh red fruits - particularly strawberry, cranberry, redcurrant, cherry and raspberry - with notes of green bell pepper and hints of black pepper.
Open: To fully appreciate the complexity of the wine, best to decant at least 1 hour before service.
Service temperature: Low room temperature (16 to 18 degrees Celsius).
Food pairing: Best paired in combination with structured and savoury dishes. This wine also pairs well with strong flavours and spicy Asian foods.
Wine-making process: Grapes are handpicked in September. Each grape varietal is separately macerated in stainless steel tanks for 10 to 14 days at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine is blended together. Wine remains unfiltered, to retain elegance, before maturation in stainless steel tanks and small oak barrels prior to bottling. Refinement continues inside the bottle post maturation.
Allergens: Minimal naturally-occurring sulphites lower than EU organic wine production requirements.
